Prepaid plans are large in number and the service providers have their own prepaid plans. The prepaid vouchers of most of the service providers are available at all local shops and it is a convenient way or Pay As You Go rates way of recharging your mobile. The prepaid plans came into existence as recharge vouchers with a validity of a month and the call rates are on the higher side compared to postpaid plans where the call rates are minimum but the user has to bear a fixed monthly charges to the mobile service provider. The prepaid are broadly classified into two major types including Pay As You Go rates, types and monthly pay or hybrid prepaid types. These types of prepaid plans grew in popularity among the college students and teenagers who do not want to wait to get a connection. Prepaid plans are easily available to the students on showing the Identity cards and can be activated at the moment but the postpaid plans need a lot of documents for proof of address, photo proof, Identity proof, etc and it takes time to get the number and activate the account. Students and the prepaid users have the convenience of selecting their phone numbers at the spot and activating them at the same moment. This is the major reason for the prepaid plans to become popular among the college students. Another major reason is that prepaid numbers can be changed by throwing away the sim card but the post paid number has to be cancelled using an exit form and it will be deactivated according to procedures in a month or two by the mobile service provider. College students maintain more than one sim cards and they opt for Pay As You Go rates for prepaid plans for this reason.

Pay As You Go Rates

The prepaid category of Pay As You Go is a traditional one and the mobile phone user uses the recharge cards to get call or air time according to his need. The recharge cards are available in wide ranges from a minimum amount to a maximum amount. If the usage for a particular month is low, then the user can opt for a minimum recharge and can opt for a maximum amount recharge if the usage for the month is going to be on the higher side. This type of prepaid plans allows the user to select the payment and have a control over the mobile phone rates.
